NL-01 examines what is lost when nutritional information is compressed into a single front-of-pack score. NL-02 examines the gap between a permitted health claim and the reader’s understanding of the product. Together, they show that two of the most visible instruments on a food label — the rating and the claim — govern what is shown and what may be said, while leaving the work of understanding to the reader.
